As announced in the Government of Alberta 2015-16 budget, the AFA received a $26.6 million allocation from Alberta Culture and Tourism. This represents a 5% cut in funding.
The AFA Board of Directors will be meeting in early April to discuss the AFA budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year. No decisions have been made at this time in regards to the AFA budget.
We will share the AFA plan for our funding allocation with clients through the AFA website, AFA Newswire, Twitter and Facebook following the April AFA Board of Directors meeting.
The AFA Board of Directors is aware of the delicate fiscal ecology of the sector and will strive to balance the different needs associated with operating funding and project grants.
All grant stream intakes and existing commitments will proceed as scheduled.
