Dates for the open west 2011 are announced - an annual open competition and exhibition, inviting submissions from national and international artists practising contemporary and conceptual art, inclusive of painting, installation, film, photography, print and sculpture.

The exhibition, of up to 40 shortlisted artists, will run from 9 February to 5 March 2011, in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The deadline for applications is 26 October 2010. (more…)

CALL FOR ENTRIES: CELESTE PRIZE 2010

Eligibility: all artists, any age, gender, profession or experience
Media: painting, photography & digital graphics, video & animation, installation & sculpture

2010 marks the second edition of The Celeste Prize, an international art prize competition. 40,000 euros in awards will be given away to the winners of the five following categories: Painting, Photography and Digital Graphics, Video and Animation, Installation and Sculpture as well as Live Media audiovisual and Performance. The 50 finalists will be chosen by a 21-person international jury. All winners will be invited to exhibit their work in Brooklyn, New York, in December 2010. The competition is open to all artists of any age, gender, profession or experience. Celeste Prize participants are also invited to present two works free in Celeste’s 2010 chosen theme exhibitions in Berlin and New York entitled Expectations which run from September 17 to October 18, 2010.
