ACAD SEEKING PART-TIME ART MODELS (CALGARY)

ART MODELS - CASUAL (Competition 0910-MR-AC-21)

In support of our Fine Arts and Design curricula, we require art models for figurative work on a casual employment basis.  Successful candidates will follow direction well; be able to remain stationary for lengthy periods; and work cooperatively with instructors and students in a studio environment.  Dependability is essential, and art models must be comfortable posing nude.  A police background check will be required prior to hiring.   As a member of the AUPE bargaining unit, this position is paid at an hourly rate of $16.50 plus 6% vacation pay.  MORE >>

ACAD SEEKING SESSIONAL FIBRE INSTRUCTOR (CALGARY)

Sessional Faculty - Fibre (Competition 1011-JL-FT-03)
ACAD is seeking Sessional Fibre Faculty to teach courses in the 2011 winter semester.

The successful candidates must have an MFA or equivalent combination of experience/qualification, an active studio practice and/or substantial professional practice, and post-secondary teaching experience. It is preferred that the candidates have experience in one or more of the following areas: introductory and intermediate screen printing, textile design at the 2nd year level, intermediate mixed media (3-D), seminar/studio at the 4th year level, and 1st year introductory fibre (2-D) which might include a selection of the following processes: fabric construction, embroidery, papermaking, screen printing, felting, shibori and fabric dying. As well, candidates must have a good knowledge of contemporary fibre practice and be familiar with current art and craft theory. Please indicate areas of expertise in your application.
