2011 Artist Proof gallery programming

The Alberta Printmakers’ Society programs 9 exhibitions per year in the Artist Proof gallery, located in the Inglewood/Ramsay community of Calgary, Alberta. The gallery programming is determined by a jury, based on the quality of submissions. A/P pays artist fees and one-way shipping for accepted proposals. EMAIL SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

The Artist Proof gallery is an artist-run gallery located adjacent to the Alberta Printmakers’ Society studio. The gallery programming exhibits innovative, contemporary print-based art produced by emerging and established printmedia artists. The Artist Proof gallery shows regional, national and international artists working in a range of concepts and techniques. Our goal is to provide opportunities for the artistic and public community to experience the diversity of printmedia art as a contemporary and vital artistic medium.  MORE >>

Please refer to the Information page to learn about Stride’s mandate, and the programming criteria for each of our three exhibition spaces.  Eligibility is limited to mid-career and established artists in the Main Space, and to emerging and aspiring artists (including students) in our +15 window space.  Artists in any stage of their career (emerging through established) may apply for exhibitions in our Project Room, provided their proposal is in accord with the stated mandate for this space. BP Portrait Award 2011

In 2011, the Portrait Award will be in its 32nd year at the National Portrait Gallery and 22nd year of sponsorship by BP. An annual event, the competition aims to encourage artists to focus upon and develop the theme of portraiture in their work. The Award is open to everyone aged 18 and over in recognition of the outstanding and innovative work currently being produced by artists of all ages working in portraiture.
