The Multicultural Centre Public Art Gallery (MCPAG) is located on the main floor of the Multicultural Heritage Centre in Stony Plain Alberta. It is a publicly funded art gallery graciously supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Parkland County, the Town of Stony Plain and visitor donations. Through regularly changing exhibits, special events and of production exhibit catalogues the gallery promotes local and regional artists. The gallery has an opening reception for each exhibit, offering the public an opportunity to meet the Artist and Curator to learn more about the creative process and the artwork itself. All visitors to the Multicultural Heritage Centre have the opportunity to access exhibitions at MCPAG, the Museum and Library free of charge.
This year MCPAG is producing our second annual HerWORK exhibit to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th. We are seeking work, in any medium, that explores themes of contemporary gendered identity, gendered roles and trades or crafts, feminist social and political criticism or history, etc.
