“Travelling Within Dreams”, paintings by Ricardo Copado in Gallery A, is a series of works that depict imaginary worlds existing in a parallel dimension. These surreal scenes, inspired by nature and other realistic elements, depict a variety of unexpected juxtapositions that capture the viewer’s interest.
In Gallery B, “Body/Language” is a series of large scale drawings by Daniel Evans, exploring the archetypal story of star-crossed lovers. The work uses the sensuality of figure drawing to investigate narrative themes of passion, loss, transgression, and dependence.
The exhibition runs from January 26 to February 25, 2012, with the opening reception on Thursday, January 26 from 7:00-9:30 pm. The VAA Gallery is open from Wed-Fri: 10-4 pm and Sat: 12-4 pm. The gallery will be closed on Feb. 18 for Family Day.
