The Works to Work Summer Internship program begins in May and runs throughout the summer. This paid program is fast-paced and connects theoretical learning with real-world applications: participants complete 46 plus hours of in-class/ home-study instruction as well as over 500 hours of practical work experience in delivering The Works Art & Design Festival. Participants benefit from working with experienced arts presenters and world class artists, while learning in a variety of ways that include assignment modules, research, student instruction, guest lectures, professional exposure, and hands-on experience.
We are at it again! The Pumphouse Theatre Art Gallery is now accepted submission for our Spring 2018. Our exhibition is: Emerging Artist Exhibit April 12th to June 30th 2018.

The Pumphouse Theatre is a vibrant facility with historical significance supporting and presenting all art forms; and creating opportunities for engagement, enrichment, cultural experience, learning and inspiration serving all Calgarians. The PTS Art Gallery provides accessible wall display space for Calgary and Alberta visual artists to display and sell their work, free from commission. We are asking any artists who identifies as an Emerging Artist (under 5 years of professional experience) to submit for this exhibit.

Please refer to the Information page to learn about Stride’s mandate, and the programming criteria for each of our three exhibition spaces. Eligibility is limited to mid-career and established artists in the Main Space, and to emerging and aspiring artists (including students) in our +15 window space. Artists in any stage of their career (emerging through established) may apply for exhibitions in our Project Room, provided their proposal is in accord with the stated mandate for this space. (more…)
