ARTIST RESIDENCY: TAKT KUNSTPROJEKTRAUM, BERLIN

Takt offers 10 rooms to active artists visiting Berlin. The residency arised from the takt kunstprojektraum project, a non-profit, artist-run effort, founded in 2003. The main goal of the residency program is to provide artists visiting Berlin quick access to an environment that will foster their creative energies. Participating artists are invited and expected to explore their creative paths. The artists participating in the program have the opportunity to participate in open studio events. The residency has a strong element of community living. It merges a community living environment with creative artistic exploration. The rooms are all on the same floor, on either side of an L-shaped hallway. There are two kitchens and two bathrooms, which are shared by all those in the space. A series of meetings is organized each month, where people can present their work and exchange ideas. The goals are to create a platform for dynamic exchange, to allow the possibility for spontaneous collaborations, and to build up networks among artists. (more…)

ARTIST RESIDENCIES: 1646, THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS

1646 is an artists? initiative/project-space in the centre of The Hague, which promotes the exchange between local, national and international artists and art spaces. The aim is to create an active research for current developments in the shifting landscapes of art, culture, and theory. At the end of each residency there will be a presentation of the works or research made during the period.

1646 provides a 21 sqm private workspace located in the back of its exhibition space. The studio comes equipped with wireless internet connection, and all the community resources 1646 has to offer. 1646 provides accommodation, studio and possible working budget up to 1000,00. All individual expenses such as food, individual traveling expenses, etc. are paid by the artist.

Invitations for a residency at 104 are based on the following principles: artists are hosted from the very beginning of conception of their projects (repeats and revivals are therefore not admissible), the process is composed of 3 phases: research, experimentation and production. The project involves sharing the creative process with the widest possible public.

Accommodation Information: Accommodation is rarely on site, but usually in an apartment close by and is paid by host. The teams chosen will be provided with: a monthly grant of a minimum sum of 1500 Euro per person (maximum two people per project), for non-Parisian grant holders, accommodation.

Deadline: A new call for projects will be on line in the spring of 2010.
