Edmonton | Call to Alberta Artists :: Jasper Place Bowl and Grandstand (RFP)

edmonton arts councilThe Jasper Place Bowl and Grandstand public art competition, open to professional artists residing in Alberta, is held in accordance with the City of Edmonton policy “Percent for Art to Provide and Encourage Art in Public Areas” (C458C).

The Edmonton Arts Council, on behalf of the City of Edmonton, is seeking an existing sculptural artwork by an Alberta based artist for the entrance plaza of the redeveloped Jasper Place Bowl and Grandstand. An existing sculpture that relates to the surrounding architectural shapes and concept is of interest, however alternate concepts are welcome.

Deadline for Submissions: 4:30 pm MST Tuesday, January 23, 2018
Installation: Spring 2019

Edmonton | Eleven Sculptures Find a New Home

It took two days of cranes, straps, power tools, ingenuity, hard hats, and several buckets of sunscreen to install the 11 new sculptures now residing in Borden Park. Artists Sandra Bromley, Kasie Campbell, Agnieszka Koziarz, and Susan Owen Kagan oversaw the installation of their artworks on the concrete pads dotted throughout the historic park. The EAC Public Art and Conservation teams, with invaluable assistance from Encore Trucking, (and some good old Alberta sunshine) moved and installed everything in record time.
