Edmonton | MZD Call for Submissions 2017-18

Mile Zero Dance is a non-profit charitable dance company based in Edmonton, AB, with 1200 square foot studio and 600 square foot gallery/front space that we program throughout the year. Situated in Little Italy, we are interested in performance work that pushes boundaries and expectations, especially dance, body, or movement based work. For our 33rd Season, we are seeking artists from a wide variety of backgrounds for:

1 Short Multidisciplinary Acts, 10 minutes or less, for cabaret situations such as Dirt Buffet Cabaret or mixed evenings such as Alberta Culture Days. Artists should prepare a video clip (online), short bio, and a description of work to be presented. Any media considered. (ongoing).

2 Curators for themed, Canada 150 one-night party events. The curator/lead artist will be involved in selecting other artists and planning the event as well as showing their own work. CV/artist statement/samples of work. (deadline March 1/17)

TARGET GROUP: International

The Studio aims to assist in the further understanding and development of emerging art trends in Taiwan; simultaneosly, it endeavors to promote cross-cultural exchanges by providing a meeting point for international artists on short visits. The Studio was established to meet the needs of four types of contemporary art in Taipei.: working space and equipment for mixed media art, exhibition space for installation/site specific works, performance space for experimentation and development of multi-media art, and consultative, research and implementation art services.
