The Red Deer Public Art Program integrates outstanding works of art into public spaces and facilities throughout the city that reflect our community’s distinct culture and character. Through the acquisition of artworks for public display, The City provides an engaging and dynamic urban environment and creates a cultural legacy for the future. The City invites artists to participate in two new public art competitions. The purpose of this pre-qualification is to select up to three initial artistic concepts for each project and invite the winning submissions to a Phase II competition. In the Phase II competition artists will further develop their proposals and present their projects to the City of Red Deer’s Public Art Commission. Artist’s will receive a stipend of $2500 for materials and travel incurred for their participation in the Phase II competition.
